John Terry Excited With New Experience at Aston Villa
Following his departure from Chelsea at the end of last season, John Terry didn’t immediately hang his boots as he opted to continue his playing career with Championship outfit, Aston Villa.
Terry’s deal with Villa was announced on Monday, July 3rd, creating a buzz in the social medial as not many actually expect it to happen since football fans probably think the former England international might opted to play in MLS instead.
Speaking to the club’s official site, Terry expressed his joy of joining Steve Bruce’s side for one year deal, stating that he has always been a distant admirer of the club since years and hoping that his arrival can helped them achieving something special.
Moreover, the veteran defender also added that he rejected some offers to stay in the Premier League and opted a move to Villa Park instead as he doesn’t feel keen on facing up against his former side, Chelsea.
It’s a pretty big coup indeed for the Villans as despite Terry’s age, his experience and tactical ability might still be very valuable for them in competing for promotion battle next season.
Added with the short contract length, Bruce’s team doesn’t see to be losing anything much from that agreement and might even triggered strong support with such big name arrival.
