Being placed in Group C with Colombia, Greece along with Ivory Coast, Japan are considered as the dark horse that could surprise and advanced from their group. However, for that to happen, Blue Samurai head coach, Alberto Zaccheroni is keen on getting his star players match fit for the tournament.

Speaking in a recent press conference, Zac revealed that the players he were referring were Shinji Kagawa and Keisuke Honda, who both didn’t get that much playing time ahead of the upcoming World Cup 2014.

Acknowledging the importance of those two players, Zaccheroni revealed that he will try to give as many playing time for both Kagawa and Honda in Japan’s friendly fixtures before the World Cup, so those two can be ready when the real battle arrives.

Meanwhile, Honda himself is confident that he can put on a strong performance in Brazil, despite failing to get much playing time in his half season with AC Milan. The former CSKA Moscow man added that he is very determined to prove himself and help Japan in getting good result.

Honda also revealed that he has been preparing a lot to do well in Brazil, stating that playing in huge tournament like World Cup that only arrived once in  four years gives him more motivation to perform well.
