Having been troubled with slight injury issues in his current World Cup 2014 preparation, England defender, Phil Jagielka is sharing a positive news for Three Lions fans as he is getting match fit and hoping to be ready for the opening fixture against Italy.
Speaking to the media recently, Jagielka admitted that his not fully fit yet at the moment, but things are going well for him so there’s strong beliefs from the Everton man that he can hit the ground running soon.
Losing out couple of experienced defenders, such as John Terry and Rio Ferdinand, who have both retired from international football, simply put a lot of pressure on current England back line.
However, that situation also opens up the chance for those who rarely got international opportunities, such as Jagielka or any other young defenders to finally get regular playing time for England.
Acknowledging his opportunity to lead the like for Three Lions in this upcoming World Cup, Jagielka is very determined indeed in getting his fitness back as soon as possible so he won’t miss out on any games in Brazil.
Furthermore, there’s an obvious reason why England are keen on getting Jagielka fit for their opening fixture as the Everton man’s partnership with Gary Cahill has been very successful so far.
