Italy are taking their World Cup 2014 preparation very seriously as aside from holding a physical test for some potential called up players this week, Azzurri have already set up a friendly by the time they arrived in Brazil.

Cesare Prandelli’s men reportedly already booked a friendly match against local Brazilian top side, Fluminense on June 8 in Volta Redondo, which is around six days before Italy get their World Cup under way against England.

Confirmation about that friendly fixture was being revealed by the Brazilian club’s president, Ricardo Tenorio to O Globo, saying, “The Italian Federation asked us and we accepted their invitation. We will play to the best of our abilities, apart of course from the players who have been called away for World Cup duty.”

It obviously a positive gesture from Italian national side as they’re keen on testing their strength and preparation along with adapting to the condition in Brazil, before playing their real battle.

Italy themselves are being drawn into a pretty difficult group as side from England, Prandelli’s men must also face the likes of Uruguay along with Costa Rica.

Being considered as one of the favorites in the tournament because of their recent positive display, Italy will definitely face a tough task to prove their worth.
