Italy Bounce Back, Wales Victorious in World Cup 2018 Qualifier
Italian national side got themselves back on winning ways in their World Cup qualifier as Giampiero Ventura’s men edge pass Israel 1-0 on Tuesday.
Following their disappointing 3-0 defeat from group leader, Spain on the weekend, Gli Azzurri were determined in turning things around at their own home crowd.
After a tight first 45 minutes which saw neither teams managed to score a goal, it was Ciro Immobile who broke the dead lock for Italy on 53 minutes and turned out to be the match winner as well.
Certainly a precious result for Ventura’s boys as they’re currently looking to secure that runners up spot which will take them into another playoffs battle before acquiring that Russia 2018 ticket.
Meanwhile, Wales preserved their hope of automatic qualification as they picked up all three points on their away trip against Moldova.
It was also a rather tight encounter for quite a while, before Hal-Robson Kanu broke the dead lock on 80 minutes and soon followed by Aaron Ramsey’s strike in stoppage time.
That victory still put Gareth Bale and co sitting second on the standings with four points behind group leader, Serbia, triggering such massive last few games for both teams.
