Hodgson Leaves Out Ferdinand for Shawcross

England manager Roy Hodgson has already named his squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against San Marino and Poland. Just as it was previously expected there’s no room for Manchester United’s Rio Ferdinand as Hodgson decided to call up Stoke City’s Ryan Shawcross instead.

Hodson’s decision in leaving out Ferdinand for the upcoming qualifiers was not a surprise as the 34-year-old apparently being considered to pass his peak already by the Swiss born manager.

With John Terry already retiring from the national team, it seems that Ferdinand is also set to end his national team career.
