The World Cup 2014 is not starting as just yet, but Netherlands already preparing for their national side future after that competition as the country’s Football Federation (KNVB) already appointed Guus Hiddink as their new tactician after the event ends.
This decision was taken after their current head coach, Louis Van Gaal, decided to step down after leading Netherlands at the upcoming WC 2014 Brazil. The tactician reportedly will be getting back to coach football clubs next summer, with Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United being strongly linked with him.
Regarding Hiddink’s appointment, KNVB also revealed that the veteran tactician will only be taking charge until the end of Euro 2016 with Danny Blind is being set for replacement from that moment until World Cup 2018 in Russia.
An interesting short deal indeed, but it’s not really a major surprise since Hiddink has been known to go places in terms of coaching as he don’t seem eager in taking charge of any team for a long contract.
Aside from Hiddink and Blind, another interesting name is also being mentioned as part of that coaching staff, he is ex-Manchester United striker, Ruud Van Nilsterooy, who is being set as an assistant coach.
