A quite surprising decision occurred regarding Netherlands national team setup as Guus Hiddink apparently has decided to step down from his position as head coach.
Taking the team for a second time, Hiddink’s new tenure was from pleasing as Dutch were struggling on their Euro 2016 qualifier, sitting third behind Czech Republic and Iceland.
Hiddink stated his apology for not being able to give the best results during his second spell while wishing the best of luck for his successor.
Netherlands football association will now decide on a replacement, but so far no candidates have been strongly linked as they might take their time since no international games are scheduled for quite a while.
