Only being used as a substitute player during Manchester City’s 4-0 win in the Premier League over West Ham United in midweek, many starting to think that Sergio Aguero’s time at Etihad is heading for a bitter end.
However, that’s apparently not the case according to City’s boss himself, Pep Guardiola, who stated that the Argentinian is still important for him and his squad.
The arrival of young Brazil starlet, Gabriel Jesus this winter seemingly provided the Spanish tactician with another option up front.
Still, that doesn’t mean that Aguero will be left out completely as Guardiola stated to the media that he need both players at Man City as that’s what other big clubs do.
The Spaniard stated that so far his Argentinian attacker has been playing as starter a lot aside from the time he was suspended and one game against Barcelona, which is down to tactical decision.
Nevertheless, with the former Barcelona boss seemingly impressed with Jesus’, the media strongly speculating that next summer Aguero might not be at Etihad anymore.
It’s certainly a possibility, especially should the Argentinian felt that his playing time significantly reducing from now until the end of current season.
For now, it’s nothing more than just a speculation as the former Atletico Madrid man won’t be going anywhere anyway considering the winter transfer market is already closed.
