Ghana’s Defeat Over Netherlands Helped Appiah in Selecting His 23 Men Squad

Suffering a slender 1-0 defeat on their latest friendly fixture against Netherlands doesn’t seem to give much concern for Ghana’s head coach, James Kwesi Appiah, as that defeat has actually helped him in determining his 23-men for the World Cup.

Sharing his views in a recent press conference, Appiah stated that he was not disappointed with the way his players perform against Louis Van Gaal’s men and thought that the Black Stars have put on a positive display.

The tactician noted that picking up a defeat from that game basically confirmed his decision on who will he take to Brazil as from that tie Appiah can acknowledge those who are ready to perform in the big stage.

Appiah himself has now revealed his 23-men for World Cup there were no major surprises as the Black Star’s top names such as Kevin-Prince Boateng, Sulley Muntari, Michael Essien, Kwadwo Asamoah, Asamoah Gyan all made the cut.

The African side will definitely need to put on a strong performance in Brazil if they want to advance into the next round as they’re being paired with strong sides such as Germany, Portugal along with USA in group G.
