After a convincing friendly result against Norway, France preparation seem to be rather bleak, starting with the injury which was suffered by their star player, Franck Ribery.
That injury forced him to miss out on Les Blues’ latest game against Paraguay which ended in a 1-1 draw for Didier Deschamps’ men, a disappointing result indeed compared to their previous 4-0 win against Norway.
Although they still have many top names, France players acknowledge the importance of Ribery for their World Cup campaign, one of those who are keen on seeing the Bayern Munich man get back on the pitch is Blaise Matuidi.
Speaking to the media after his team’s draw against Paraguay, Matuidi stated his confidence that Ribery will be ready to play in Brazil adding that mentally the winger is in a positive condition.
Meanwhile, head coach, Didier Deschamps stated that his team’s draw against Paraguay might not be considered as a positive result, but he believes that game gave many positive lessons for Les Blues.
Deschamps will obviously hope that Ribery will be able to make the trip and lead France in their World Cup journey, which could be tricky as they are being placed in Group E with Switzerland, Ecuador and Honduras.
