Facing strong competition for a spot in World Cup 2014 and is yet to receive another call up recently, Fernando Llorente apparently isn’t that keen on focusing his mind to get into Spanish national setup for that competition.
The Juventus striker revealed to local Turin based media, Tuttosport that his not thinking about World Cup anymore and simply focusing his mind for Juventus.
Furthermore, seeing similar fate is also being felt by his teammate, Carlos Tevez, Llorente seems pretty content with his current situation as that might give more positive impact for Juve’s future next season.
“I’m not thinking about the World Cup anymore, The fact that [Carlos] Tevez and I are not going to be playing in it could be beneficial to Juventus,” Llorente stated.
Although it may seem like a sign of giving up for Llorente, but the ex-Athletic Bilbao attacker might just try to be realistic and simply toning down his expectation in getting a call up from Vicente del Bosque.
Competition in filling that attacking spot for La Furia Roja is getting tougher indeed, aside the fact that Del Bosque can simply play without any center forward, but the arrival of Diego Costa obviously making things really difficult for Llorente.
