Already being considered as a veteran striker, Didier Drogba proves that he is still an important part of Ivory Coast team as his performance against Japan received many praises from both sides of supporters.
Coming off from the bench, Drogba inspired his team to turn things around as within less than five minutes Ivory Coast got back on level terms, before eventually getting in front soon afterwards.
Although the ex-Chelsea man didn’t score or directly made an assist, but his movement and presence inside Japan’s penalty box really created the space that his teammates required in breaking down the Asian giant’s defense.
Not only receiving many positive words from Ivory Coast devotees, Japan supporters also admitted that Drogba’s arrival is basically what changed things around in that game.
It remain to be seen on whether head coach, Sabri Lamouchi, will put Drogba right from the start on their next game or uses him again as a super sub just like what happened against Japan.
