Exquisite Marcos Alonso Free Kick Lift Chelsea

The second week of English Premier League continue to fill football fans with excitement, especially since there’s quality goals being scored all around the pitch, including the excellent free kick goal netted by Chelsea’s left back, Marcos Alonso.

Alonso, who arrived from Fiorentina last season has shown his ability to score goals, especially from set pieces, but the one he netted at Wembley Stadium on Sunday against Tottenham Hotspur felt slightly special.

The Spaniard took his kick really well that it puts a quality goal keeper such as Hugo Lloris seemingly helpless as the Frenchman’s flying attempt in trying to save the shot resulted in nothing but disappointment.

After the game, Alonso himself admitted it was one of his special one to date, while humbly stating that he probably hasn’t even manage to score such a sweet free kick even during training.

However, knowing his positive scoring rate from free kicks, one might argue that the 26-year-old is just not keen on gloating himself, knowing that he arrived to Stamford Bridge with many doubts following him from Chelsea lovers.

Not only scoring such wonderful free kick, but Alonso also netted home his team’s winner in that game, completing his all around fine performance that day.
