England national side continue to pick up positive result ahead of their World Cup 2018 campaign as Gareth Southgate’s men defeated Netherlands 1-0 on Friday’s international friendly fixture.

Playing away from home, Three Lions looked pretty confident when facing one of the traditional footballing nations in world football.

Although the Orange squad didn’t make this year’s world cup, Ronald Koeman’s men remain a strong team that are currently keen on promoting their young talents to regain their pedigree.

It was a tight first 45 minutes with neither teams were able to find any goals, but things suddenly changed just before the hour mark as England got themselves in front through Jesse Lingard’s effort.

That single goal lasted until the final whistle of the tie as no more goals were scored by both teams, giving Southgate’s men a positive result as they continue their preparation for Russia 2018.

Similar result was acquired by Argentina national side as they defeated fallen giant, Italy 2-0 at Etihad Stadium with goals coming from Ever Banega along with Manuel Lanzini.

Playing without their star man, Lionel Messi, Albiceleste were finding some difficulties early on, but eventually got their break through on 75 minutes with an effort from Banega.

The two time World Cup champion finally secured their friendly win with a second goal, which was netted by West Ham United star, Lanzini five minutes from time.
