Champions League is always known to produce exciting games along with plenty quality goals and another one should be added into the book as AS Roma forward, Edin Dzeko just scored a beauty on Wednesday.
The Bosnian international struck a sweet first time volley from inside the penalty area that spectacularly beat Thibaut Courtouis on Chelsea’s goal, who can’t really do anything much about it.
Dzeko peeled away from his marker and somehow got himself enough space to execute a long direct ball sent by Federico Fazio, who should also get some credit for the quality pass and vision.
Not just aesthetically pretty, but the former Manchester City attacker’s goal was an important one as it marked Roma’s come back after going 2-1 behind in the first 45 minutes.
The 31-year-old forward scored that peach of a goal on 64 minutes and soon afterwards grabbed his second to temporarily put his team up front, before Chelsea eventually equalized and made it 3-3.
Getting one point at Stamford Bridge is already considered as a positive result for Roma, especially since at one point in the first period the Italian side actually found themselves 2-0 down.
Certainly that wonder goal from Dzeko was able to put them in such strong position midway into the second half and eventually coming away with one point.
