Denmark ambition to secure a spot into the knock out stage of World Cup 2018 is halted as they only picked up one point from their second group game against Australia.
Knowing that a win can ensure them a place in the next round, Danish Dynamite started the game in such aggressive fashion as they pushed forward vigorously in search for early goals.
That positive approach was immediately rewarded when their star midfielder, Christian Eriksen broke the dead lock after just seven minutes of play.
However, that lead didn’t last until half time break as Australia reacted well and got themselves back into the tie with a goal from Mile Jedinak’s spot kick on 38 minutes.
It was another VAR influenced situation as Socceroos this time got themselves in the bright side of the new technology which found that one of Denmark players handled the ball inside the penalty area.
Nothing changed much after the break as both teams still trying their best to get that winning goal, but until the final whistle was blown, no more goals were scored by either teams.
Despite not being able to secure their place in the knock out stage as just yet, Denmark seemingly much more pleased with the draw as they now have four points in current standings.
Having to meet France on their final group game doesn’t seem to bother Denmark, since even a draw against Les Blues will be enough to take the Danish Dynamite into the knock out stage.
