Del Piero Surprised With Zidane’s Success as Madrid’s Coach

Zinedine Zidane’s positive  run this past two seasons as Real Madrid’s head coach is not something that expected by many, including the Frenchman former teammate, Alessandro Del Piero.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with ESPNFC crew, Del Piero admitted that even during their playing time together at Juventus, the former Italian striker never thought that Zizou can become a successful manager.

Moreover, even when the ex-French super star was starting his coaching role at Madrid’s youth setup, Del Piero think it was not something serious and only a way for Zidane to stay at Los Blancos.

However, with such immediately results that the former midfield maestro currently enjoying, the Juve legend admitte that his friend is indeed becoming a top tactician.

Nevertheless, Del Piero also noted that Zidane’s experience in being Carlo Ancelotti’s assistant at Madrid plays an important part in the French tactician’s current success at Los Blancos.

Sharing more about Zizou’s strong points, the ex-Italian international stated that strong ambitions, champions mentality, respect from players along with good man management are the things that helped the Frenchman in handling many big egos at Madrid’s locker room.

Certainly an interesting take from someone who has strong personal relationship with Zidane himself which give us slight insight of how things happened for the 44-year-old head coach.
