Croatia found themselves advancing into knock round of UEFA 2016 as group winner after putting on an impressive victory over Spain on Tuesday.
La Fura Roja actually made a bright start into the game as they found themselves going one goal up after just seven minutes through Alvaro Morata’s close range finish.
However, Ante Cacic’s side never gave up any hope as they continue to push forward in search for an equalizer, which they eventually earned just before half time through Nikola Kalinic’s fine goal.
Both sides continue their hunt for goals after the break, Spain could have made it 2-1 when they were awarded a spot kick but Sergio Ramos’ effort was saved.
In contrary, it was Cacis’s men that are able to snatch all important three points as Ivan Perisic slightly deflected shot beat David De Gea own La Furia Roja’s goal.
That result means that Croatia successfully finished above Spain in the final group standings, putting Vicente del Bosque’s side under huge trouble as they could be meeting either Italy or Belgium in the knock out stage.
