Two more European nations confirmed their spots for the upcoming World Cup 2018 in Russia as Croatia along with Switzerland completed their playoffs round against their opponents.
Croatia took down Greece despite a rather disappointing goalless draw in their second leg match up on Sunday as the Balkan side previously won 4-1 at home.
Already having a comfortable lead going into the second leg, Ante Cacic’s side looked quite comfortable in that game as it was their opponent that must try to get things going.
The visitor never really put on a super aggressive display in that match, but they don’t need to as Greece were simply out of sort and seems to be lacking any kind of inspiration from start to finish.
Needing at least a 3-0 score line to turn things around seems to be too much for Michael Skibbe’s side as they failed to put their rival under much trouble throughout the full 90 minutes mark.
Meanwhile, Swiss also picked up a similar 0-0 result on their second leg battle against Northern Ireland and it’s also enough for Vladimi Petkovic’s side to secure their World Cup spot as they did win 1-0 in their previous tie away from home.
Playing at home, Switzerland were keen on entertaining their fans, but eventually getting themselves into Russia is simply the main goal as they simply did what’s required of them that night.
