Manchester City’s chance of winning four titles evaporated following their FA Cup exit on Monday as they were being beaten by League One side, Wigan Athletic.
Pep Guardiola’s men were certainly disappointed with that result as not only they were beaten by a supposedly weaker side, but there were also several incidents that made that game much more sour.
From the sending off for Fabian Delph during the first 45 minutes, eventually losing that game from Will Grigg’s goal to Sergio Aguero’s post game altercation with a Wigan’s fan and reported Guardiola’s tunnel row, all those simply giving a darker view from that result.
However, their failure in advancing into the next round surely something that brings the most disappointment for City as it’s their first exit from any cup competition so far this season.
That bitter feeling of going out can be heard from Guardiola’s post game statement as despite congratulating Wigan for their success, the tactician somewhat sarcastically said that Paul Cook’s side only managed one shot on goal.
Furthermore, investigation is set to be done by FA following those post game incidents that happened, notably those involving Aguero along with his manager’s action.
This situation sort of giving away a sore loser kind of label from some pundits towards city and Guardiola, but the former Barcelona boss most likely won’t be too bothered with it as his focusing more on keeping his remaining trophies chase alive and well.
