Manchester City continuing their reign at the top of English Premier League standings following their impressive 3-1 home victory over rival, Manchester United at Etihad Stadium this Sunday.
Pep Guardiola’s men were very determined to pick up all three points as they put on an aggressive display straight from kick off in search of that early goals.
The home team’s positive approach was rewarded when David Silva opened the scoring after just 12 minutes, which lasted until half time break.
Early in the second half, things got even better for Man City as they went 2-0 up following an effort from their all time top scorer, Sergio Aguero.
However, Jose Mourinho’s men were not keen on giving up easily as they were pushing hard to get themselves back into the tie and did pull one goal back from Anthony Martia’s spot kick.
Nevertheless, it was simply City’s day as they eventually netted home their third when Ilkay Gundogan scored four minutes from time which also sealed all three points for the defending champion.
Meanwhile, Chelsea picked up a slightly disappointing result as Maurizio Sarri’s men were held into a goalless draw at Stamford Bridge, putting themselves now still at third seat, four points behind league leader Man City.
