Chelsea Support Mudryk Over Doping Case
Chelsea’s attacker, Mykhailo Mudryk is experiencing a bleak moment in his career after failing a recent drug test by FA. Despite the trouble, The Blues according to their manager, Enzo Maresca remains supportive of the Ukrainian international.

Mudryk Banned by FA After Failed Drug Test

The attacking winger hasn’t been involved in Chelsea’s last five matches and instead of injury or tactical reasons, his absence happened because he tested positive for doping. According to reports from the English media (via The Daily Mail), the Football Association have provisionally suspended Mudryk from playing as they await the results of the B sample to confirm initial findings. Should the second test confirm Mudryk’s doping case, he could face up to four years of ban from playing football for club and country. The player voiced his innocence and was confident that he hadn’t done anything wrong during his routine urine test. Nevertheless, at the moment the player remains hopeful that the B sample test can cancel out the initial test result. Mudryk is hopeful that he can get back into playing as soon as possible but understands that he can’t say anything much just yet because of the investigation situation.

Chelsea Voice Support for Mudryk

As for The Blues, despite the player’s struggle since joining them in January 2023, they remain supportive of their Ukranian winger. Chelsea and the player are working with relevant authorities to determine what moves they can do regarding the situation. Meanwhile, The Blues’ boss, Enzo Maresca also confirmed the club’s full support of Mudryk during the tactician’s latest statement to the media. Maresca also believes that his big-money signing did not do anything wrong. “We all support Misha Mudryk. We have a statement from the club, who have already said what we need to say. So there is not anything to add. All the players inside the training ground support and trust Misha,” Maresca told the media (via Fabrizio Romano). “We all believe Mudryk is innocent. For sure he will come back. I don’t think Misha’s Chelsea career is over. I think he will come back. We don’t know when that is the only doubt we have at this moment,” the tactician added.
