Chelsea failed to maintain their winning run in the English Premier league this weekend as Maurizio Sarri’s side were held into a disappointing goalless draw against West Ham United.
Coming off from their Europa League fixture, The Blues were not in the mood of slowing things down as they put out their usual attacking football straight from kick off.
However, it was far from an easy task for Sarri’s men to break down their opponent’s defense as the Hammers were able to set up a solid display throughout the match.
Despite several opportunities created by both teams, neither sides were able to score any goals until the final whistle was blown, forcing them that match to end in a goalless draw.
Certainly not a positive result for Chelsea as they didn’t only have their winning run ended, but also losing a bit pace with current league leader, Liverpool.
Nevertheless, The Blues will have a chance to regain their table topping position next weekend when they meet up against Jurgen Klopp’s men in the Premier League weekend fixture.
In another Sunday game, Arsenal keeping their recent positive winning trend going after a rather controversial away victory against Everton.
Just like Chelsea, Gunners were not having an easy encounter as their opponent also put on a very good display since kick off.
Despite experiencing many difficulties at the back, Arsenal were able to find a break through when Alexandre Lacazette puts them in front on 56 minutes.
Within just three minutes later, Unai Emery’s men managed to double their advantage, albeit from an offside goal netted by Pierre Aubameyang.
That second goal just pretty much killed the match as Everton finding it too difficult to chase two goals deficit in the remaining minutes of that game.
