Chelsea keeping their chance to end the current season with a trophy alive as they secured a ticket into FA Cup final after beating Southampton on the semifinal stage.
Playing at Wembley stadium on Sunday, both teams looking really eager to get that final ticket as they put on an aggressive approach straight from kick off, triggering an exciting battle.
It was a tight encounter though in the first 45 minutes as neither teams were able to convert their chances into goals, forcing them to go into half team break in a 0-0 score line.
After the break, Chelsea finally got themselves a break through with Olivier Giroud opening the scoring straight from the re-start.
Southampton tried hard to get themselves back into the tie, but it was the Blues that got their second instead as Alvaro Morata netted home eight minutes from time to secure that final ticket for Antonio Conte’s men.
No more goals were scored afterwards as there’s simply not enough time anyway for the Saints to get themselves back from 2-0 down.
That victory also means that The Blues are setting themselves up for a more exciting tie against Manchester United for the chance to end their season with a silverware.
It will be an exciting battle as United are also keen on winning the cup, promising an intriguing battle between two Premier League top teams.
