Chelsea keeping their lead at the top of English Premier League standings after picking up their eight straight league victory as they defeated Manchester City 3-1 at Etihad Stadium.
Both teams were determined in picking up three points, especially the home side as they haven’t won any of their last three home games in the Premier League.
That strong will to win from Pep Guardiola’s men were very visible in the first 45 minutes as Man City played with such high pressing and fast attacking play.
After missing some chances, City finally got themselves in front just before half time break thanks to an own goal from Gary Cahill.
In the second half, both teams continue to push forward and the home team’s failure to score the second cost them dearly as after an hour of that tie, Chelsea drew level from Diego Costa’s fine effort.
From that moment on, the match effectively swung into The Blues’ favor as they more dangerous going forward and were able to improve defensively.
With another swift counter attacking play, Antonio Conte’s men turned things around as substitute player, Willian finished off Costa’s assist on 70 minutes.
That game was eventually over when the away team netted home their third, scored by Belgium international, Eden Hazard who once again put on an excellent display.
Unfortunately, things turned ugly in the end as scuffle broke out between players, triggered by an awful challenge from Sergio Aguero which saw red along with Fernandinho.
