Chelsea Booked FA Cup Final After Win Over Tottenham
The battle between two Premier League title contenders in FA Cup went into Chelsea’s way as Antonio Conte’s men defeated their rival, Tottenham Hotspurs 4-2 on Saturday.
It was truly an exciting battle which not only important in acquiring that FA Cup final ticket, but also that morale boosting edge for either teams’ title challenge.
Despite surprisingly resting their important stars such as Eden Hazard along with Diego Costa in the first half, Conte’s boys got off to an excellent start as Brazilian midfielder, Willian puts them ahead with his free kick.
Spurs responded well though as Harry Kane equalized with his flicked header just before the 20 minutes mark, triggering a more entertaining encounter.
Just as the Lilywhites were looking to boss things around, Chelsea got themselves in front again with another Willian’s effort, this time from the penalty spot.
Tottenham were able to rise again early in the second half as they Dele Alli made it 2-2 after finishing off a brilliant assist from Christian Eriksen.
However, things changed again as Conte brought in Hazard and Costa into the game and it didn’t take long for the Belgium international to make his mark.
From a corner situation, Hazard was able to get himself a crucial goal as his shot somehow found its way into the opponent’s goal, blitzing through bodies of both teams’ players.
The match eventually sealed when Nemanja Matic scored a cracking goal that puts Chelsea comfortably ahead with a 4-2 score line.
