Chelsea making their way into the final of Carabao Cup this season following their success in eliminating Tottenham Hotspur via penalty shoot out.
Losing 1-0 in the first leg, Maurizio Sarri’s men came out with an aggressive approach as they put on an attacking display straight from kick off.
The Blues’ positive approach was eventually rewarded on 27 minutes as N’golo Kante opened the scoring with his long range effort.
Sarri turned the tie around when Eden Hazard made it 2-0 on 38 minutes giving his team a comfortable two goals advantage and 2-1 in aggregate.
Tottenham tried hard in getting themselves back into that tie and they did manage to do that through Fernando Llorente’s header on 50 minutes.
Since there’ no away goal rule in Carabao Cup, that goal from Llorente means that both sides are drawing 2-2 in aggregate.
No goals were scored until the final 90 minutes ended, forcing that tie to be decided with penalty shoot out.
During the penalties, it was Chelsea that eventually come away victorious as they scored four while their opponent only managed to put away two spot kicks.
Another disappointing outcome indeed for Tottenham as they still struggle in getting that trophy they’re keen on achieving.
As for The Blues, that victory regained their confidence again following last weekend’s defeat from Arsenal.
