Chelsea ended their season in a positive fashion as they successfully win this season’s FA Cup following a thrilling 1-0 victory over Manchester United at Wembley Stadium.
Failing to compete in the Premier League and Europe this season, both teams were determined in getting their hands on that legendary England cup this time around.
The two times put on an aggressive display since kick off as they were eyeing that early goal as scoring early can often determined the course of a final game.
It was Chelsea though that got themselves the breakthrough when Eden Hazard converted a penalty kick on 22 minutes, following a foul by United defender, Phil Jones.
That slender lead lasted until half time break as Jose Mourinho’s men failed to get an equalizing during the first 45 minutes.
After the break, Man United tried to take more control of that tie, pouring forward vigorously in search for an equalizing goal straight from the re-start.
Nevertheless, none of United’s efforts were fruitful as Chelsea holding on expertly to their 1-0 lead until the final whistle was blown and earned themselves a precious FA Cup victory.
Lifting that trophy is certainly an important feat for The Blues, especially since they also failed to finish in the top four seat, which means no Champions League football next season for Antonio Conte’s men.
