Chelsea maintaining their table topping seat in the English Premier League despite being held into a 1-1 draw by Liverpool this midweek.
Both teams were gunning for three points, but eventually forced to settle for just one point as neither were able in grabbing that winning goal.
The Blues got themselves in front during the first 45 minutes when David Luiz opened the scoring for them after just 24 minutes of play.
Jurgen Klopp’s men drew level early in the second half when Georginio Wijnaldum equalized on 57 minutes, slamming home James Milner’s headed assist.
Nevertheless, Conte’s men had a big chance to regain their advantage when they were awarded a spot kick, but Diego Costa saw his shot saved by Simon Mignolet.
Meanwhile, another title contender, Arsenal failed to capitalize on Chelsea’s draw as Arsene Wenger’s men suffered a shock home defeat against Watford.
Playing at home, Gunners found themselves trailing by two goals just before 15 minutes of play through Younes Kaboul’s effort (10) with Troy Deeney (13).
Arsenal struggle to get themselves back into that tie in the first 45 minutes, but they did manage to pull one goal back from Alex Iwobi’s goal on 58 minutes.
However, it was not enough to spark any comeback as Arsene Wenger’s men found themselves losing 2-1 in front of their home crowd at Emirates.
Another contender that couldn’t take much advantage over those previous results are Tottenham Hotspur which were held into a goalless draw by Sunderland.
