Benatia’s War of Words With Roma

Mehdi Benatia’s departure from AS Roma to Bayern Munich apparently sparked an interesting spat between the player and his former club as both seemingly slamming each other for that exit process.

Speaking to German media, Benatia practically blames Roma for his move as he claims that his departure happened because Giallorossi needed cash from his sale, while the Italian didn’t agree with that statement.

Roma’s president, James Pallotta, said that his former defender was a liar as the former Udinese basically keen on departing despite both parties already agreed on new deal during preseason.

This argument is an interesting situation indeed as Benatia will be battling against his former teammates in the upcoming Champions League battle as AS Roma are being drawn in the same group as Bayern Munich.
