Former German national team captain, Michael Ballack admitted that although his nation are considered as one of the favorites to win upcoming World Cup 2014 in Brazil, it won’t be easy for them to achieve it.

The former Bayern Munich and Chelsea star do believe that German have the quality and deserved to be considered as one of favorites for WC 2014, but based on history it’s always difficult for any European side to win something in South America.

However, Ballack do think that Germany can get their hands in the trophy should they have several needed ingredients,  “It’s a combination of factors that you need: the absolute will to win, a good team mentality and some individual brilliance. Obviously a little bit of luck is part of it as well, to have fortune on your side at the right moment.” the ex-midfielder revealed.

Furthermore, the ex-German skipper also agrees with recent statement saying that Brazil are the major favorite in grabbing that WC 2014, especially after their success in Confederations Cup last year.

Apart of Germany and Brazil, Ballack also consider the likes of Spain along with Italy as potential candidates as well in the tournament as both of those teams have showed good footballing qualities in recent years.
