Bale’s Brace and Karius Howlers Marked Madrid’s Champions League Glory

Real Madrid secured their 13th Champions League title which is also their third in a row after defeating Liverpool 3-1 on Saturday.

Welsh striker, Gareth Bale was the main man for Los Blancos in that tie with his two goals, but The Reds’ goalie, Loris Karius also plays an important role on Madrid’s victory with his two fatal blunders.

It was an intriguing contest with both teams trying to impose themselves in the game since kick off with two different approach.

Things looking well balanced with the Premier League outfit slightly looking sharper with their more direct attacking style, but things eventually changed when Mohamed Salah went out due to injury.

Madrid practically dominated heavily from that moment on, though no goals were scored during the first 45 minutes.

The La Liga giant opened their account on 51 minutes through Karim Benzema’s goal, capitalizing on a ridiculous terror from Karius who for some reason threw the ball directly into the Frenchman’s boot.

Fortunately, Liverpool were able to draw level not long after as Sadio Mane scored from a corner, putting his side back into it despite against the run of play.

Madrid turned the gear again though as they pushed forward vigorously and got themselves their second from Bale, who scored a fantastic overhead kick.

The Wales international basically sealed that match when he completed his brace on 83 minutes with a long range effort which was spilled by Karius.

A memorable night indeed for Bale, who came into the match as a substitute for Isco, while the opposite situation certainly for Liverpool’s young goalie, who would want to forget everything that happened in that final.
