Arsenal ambition to push themselves closer to fourth place spot was halted as Unai Emery’s me picked up a disappointing away defeat against West Ham United.
The Gunners were very determined in grabbing all three points as they are still sitting fifth in current standings, three points behind fourth place, Chelsea.
It was not an easy task though for the visitor as West Ham also able to put on a very good display since the early minutes.
After a goalless first 45 minutes, it was The Hammers that eventually got themselves in front thanks to a fine finish from Declan Rice on 48 minutes.
That early second half goal, triggered reaction from Arsenal as they become even more determined in pushing forward.
However, despite of their relentless efforts, it wasn’t easy for Emery’s men to break down West Ham’s defense.
Manuel Pellegrini’s side also able to keep creating problems to Gunners’ back line every time the host had opportunities to go forward.
In the end, no more goals were scored by either sides as West Ham hold on to their slender lead and move themselves into the eight place seat in current standings.
That result is not something that Emery wants as they could find themselves going six points behind from Chelsea in that chase for top four place.
