Arsenal Shocked by Stoke, Liverpool Bagged First Win in Premier League
Starting their season with an unconvincing home win over Leicester City last weekend, people’s concern offer Arsenal’s future won’t go away as this Saturday they suffered a disappointing 1-0 away defeat against Stoke City.
It was a tight encounter since the kick off as both sides were battling hard to break each others defensive stance, in which was not an easy thing to do, especially during the first 45 minutes that ended goalless.
Things finally opened up straight from the re-start as Stoke’s quick attacking move was rewarded with a breakthrough goal netted by their summer signing, Jese.
That goal certainly triggered stronger response from Gunners as they were determined to look for that equalizing goal, but unfortunately none of their efforts bear any rewards as nothing changed until the final whistle was blown.
Meanwhile, a much better result was earned by Liverpool as Jurgen Klopp’s men picked up a slender 1-0 home victory over Crystal Palace, thanks to Sadio Mane’s goal midway into the second half.
It was another tricky encounter for The Reds as despite dominating possession they often struggle in breaking down their opponent and continue to look in trouble while defending.
Nevertheless, a scrappy goal scored by Mane on 73 minutes secured that important three points from Liverpool as they still play without their star player, Philippe Coutinho.
