Arsenal’s ambition to regain their table topping seat in English Premier League was halted this weekend after they only picked up a point from their big match battle against Manchester United.
The Gunners were looking determined in getting all three points early on in that match as they put on lots of pressure towards their opponent.
However, Arsene Wenger’s men didn’t look that fluid going forward, making it rather comfortably for Man United to handle their opponent.
In the other hand, Jose Mourinho’s men grow into that tie as they started to get more opportunities, especially in the second half.
After a sustainable pressure, Man United eventually got themselves in front through a lovely effort from Juan Mata midway into the second period.
Fortunately for Gunners, they were able to draw level thanks to an equalizing goal from their substitute striker, Olivier Giroud, who scored in the 89th minute.
Meanwhile, Manchester City got themselves back on winning ways after defeating Crystal Palace 2-1 with goals coming from Yaya Toure, who surprisingly got a playing time by Pep Guardiola.
The former Barcelona man showcasing that he still has some worth for City scoring those two important goals, while Palace only managed to pull one back through Connor Wickham.
That result put City joint top of English Premier League standings with Liverpool as both teams collecting 27 points already after 12 matches.
