Arsenal’s success in finally winning their Champions League group stage doesn’t seem to give them a new luck for the knock out stage as Arsene Wenger’s men have been drawn with Bayern Munich.
Having the hope of getting a much favorable draw for their knock out stage battle, Gunners are getting another tough encounter as Bayern certainly pose a huge threat for them.
Previous two encounter in knock out stages against the Bavarian haven’t been well for Arsenal as they got knocked out in both meetings.
Aiming to get themselves into the quarter finals since 2009-2010 season, Wenger will surely hope that they can eventually overcome Carlo Ancelotti’s men this time around.
Nevertheless, it’s definitely not the kind of draw that Wenger is keen on getting soon after getting his side finishing as group winner.
However, basing on the whole drawing itself, should Arsenal finished second in their group stage, apparently they are set for a meeting with Barcelona.
That probability happened as Paris Saint-Germain who finished as runners up behind Gunners, got that draw against the Catalan side instead.
For both PSG and Barca, their upcoming meeting is nothing new at all and just like Gunners’ situation, the Paris based side haven’t had the best of time when facing Luis Enrique’s men in knock out stage.
Here is the complete drawing for UEFA Champions League second round stage:
Real Madrid v Napoli; Manchester City v Monaco; Paris Saint-Germain v Barcelona; Benfica v Borussia Dortmund; Bayern Munich v Arsenal; Porto v Juventus; Bayer Leverkusen v Atletico Madrid; Sevilla v Leicester City.
