Defending champion, Real Madrid shockingly made their way out of UEFA Champions League this early.
Los Blancos that won their first leg tie 2-1 got eliminated by Ajax Amsterdam as the Dutch side beat them 4-1 at Santiago Bernebau.
Playing in front of their home crowd, Madrid looking very eager to secure their path into the next round.
However, it was far from an easy ride for Santiago Solari’s men as Ajax were not keen on giving up easily.
The visitor’s bright start also plays a part on Madrid’s poor display as Erik ten Hag’s men opened the scoring after just seven minutes through Hakim Ziyech.
Things got worse on 18 minutes as the away side doubled their advantage, this time from David Neres’ effort.
Los Blancos tried to improve their game in the second half, but saw themselves conceding a third goal from Dusan Tadic.
Marco Asensio did manage to lift the mood again at Bernebau after scoring a goal, which made it 3-1.
However, within just two minutes afterwards, Ajax sealed the deal when Lasse Schone scored a stunning free kick to make it 4-1.
Meanwhile, in another tie, Tottenham Hotspur secured their ticket into the next round of Champions League with 1-0 away win over Borussia Dortmund.
Taking a comfortable 3-0 lead into the second lag, Spurs allowed themselves to be pressured by their opponent.
However, Tottenham were able to get out that pressure and netted home the only goal in that second leg tie, scored by Harry Kane.
