Manchester City showcasing their winning mentality as Pep Guardiola’s men didn’t need much time to get themselves back into winning ways following their previous league defeat against Liverpool.
Playing in front of their home court, City comfortably beating Newcastle United 3-1 with Argentinian star striker, Sergio Aguero being the main man in that tie, scoring all three goals for his team.
Keen on redeeming their previous weekend disappointment, Guardiola’s men immediately took control of the tie as they dominated possession and push forward vigorously in search for early goals.
It took until 34 minutes before Man City finally got their break through as Aguero netted his first on the match giving his side that slender lead going into half time break.
Nothing changed much after the break as City continue to pour forward in search for more goals, which they eventually got on 63 minutes as the Argentinian forward converted from a spot kick.
Newcastle did managed to scare the home crowd when they pulled one back through Jacob Murphy’s effort, but Guardiola’s boys were able to regain their composure and sealed that match with Aguero’s third.
The former Atletico Madrid forward netted home from inside the penalty area, finishing off an assist from Leroy Sane, who magically skipped pass several opponents’ before laying off the perfect pass for his teammate.
