Netherlands boss Bert van Marwijk has announced his final 23-man selection for SA2010 well ahead of the June 1 deadline.
Vurnon Anita, Ron Vlaar, Jermain Lens and PSV’s Orlando Engelaar have now been informed that they will play no further part with the Oranje squad this summer, barring any last minute injuries.
Vlaar was already a slight injury doubt having pulled up in training with a hamstring injury at the squad’s pre-tournament base in Austria.The remainder of the Netherlands squad will now be able to approach their final two warm-up fixtures in the knowledge that their place on the plane to South Africa is secure.
