Bert van Marwijk is likely to play the XI that got the Netherlands to the last four of the World Cup in Sunday’s final.
Nigel de Jong and Gregory van der Wiel, who missed the semi-final against Uruguay due to suspension, are set to return against Spain.
And van Marwijk was given a boost when goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg shook off a hip injury which had threatened to keep him out of SA2010’s final game.
He trained on Friday with most of the squad, although Wesley Sneijder, Arjen Robben, Dirk Kuyt and Rafael van der Vaart were rested.
The quartet do not have injury concerns, but van Marwijk did not want to risk them ahead of the biggest game for the Oranje since the 1978 final against Argentina.
Of the team which began against Uruguay, Demy de Zeeuw and Khalid Boulahrouz are set to make way for de Jong and van der Wiel.
