Manchester United will look to end 2011 with a bang as they take on Blackburn on Saturday in the Premier League; anything other than a home win will be a disappointment to the Old Trafford faithful.

United sit in second place in the Premier League table currently, equal with cross-town rivals Manchester City on 45 points. Sir Alex Ferguson’s men have clawed back a five-point deficit over the last couple of weeks, with 5-0 wins over Fulham and Wigan in their last two outings. Dimitar Berbatov got a rare start against The Latics and bagged a hat-trick; the Bulgarian will be considered for another start on Saturday. The Red Devils have injury concerns over a number of players and the depth of their squad will be tested; Jonny Evans is the latest player on the treatment table and will miss the clash against Rovers. Bwin has United as overwhelming favourites, giving them odds of 1.11 to get three points.

Blackburn are rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table and look to be in big trouble this season. The Lancashire club have amassed only 11 points from their 18 games, with just two victories thus-far. Steve Kean is under pressure to improve results, and a section of the club’s fans are determined to influence the owners’ decision on whether or not to sack the Scottish coach. Rovers did pick up a positive result last time out however, drawing 1-1 against Liverpool at Anfield. Bwin gives the Ewood Park team long odds of 21.00 to get an unlikely away win.

United are starting to pick up pace again and should wipe the floor with a hapless Blackburn. My Premier League football betting tip is a 3-0 win to United, which Bwin puts at odds of 6.00.
