Blackburn boss Steve Kean claims the arrival of Simon Vukcevic will provide his team with a ‘totally different dimension’. Vukcevic is due to be unveiled this week, whilst the club are working on a number of transfers that could include FC Dallas centre-back George John and Hoffrenheim striker Vedad Ibisevic.

Rovers are understood to have paid a figure of £2 million to Sporting Lisbon for the services of the 25-year-old from Montenegro and Kean is delighted to have him on board. He stated, ‘He is an exciting player. He can play wide left or wide right. He has good technical ability and is a very focused guy. He is very serious about his football, and I think he will give us a totally different dimension’. Blackburn also hope to complete a deal for John and look set to pay a fee of around £1.2 million to the MLS, who hold the player’s contract. Personal terms have yet to be finalised but once the formalities are agreed, John will fly to England this week to complete a medical.

Blackburn have had a far from an ideal start to their season, they have lost their opening two Premier League matches and could still lose star defender Chris Samba, who is subject to interest from Arsenal and Tottenham. The latest news can be found at www.rovers.co.uk.
