It was been quite a few months for Phil Jones, signed by Manchester United in the summer for £16.5 million, he has kept Rio Ferdinand out of the team this season – and is now expected to make his England debut in tonight’s Euro 2012 qualifier in Montenegro.

Jones is expected to get the nod to replace injured Manchester United team-mate Chris Smalling at right-back in what is set to be a bold starting line-up from Fabio Capello. Bobby Zamora could join Wayne Rooney at the top end of the pitch whilst the two are likely to be flanked by Theo Walcott and Ashley Young.

Gareth Barry and Scott Parker are expected to start in midfield with Gary Cahill partnering John Terry in the heart of defence with Ashley Cole at left-back. England need just a singular point to be sure of qualification for next summer’s 2012 Euro Championships.
