Italy’s unhappy build up to Euro 2012 continued on Friday as they collapsed to a three-goal defeat against tournament rivals Russia in Zurich.
After going in level at half time, Alexander Kerzhakov struck on the hour before a double from Roman Shirokov sealed an easy win.
Dominic Criscito has already been removed from Italy’s squad for the Euros because of the ongoing betting scandal, while suggestions the country may pull out of the competition are not without foundation.
