Wigan Vs Sunderland Highlights:Both clubs battled it out at the DW Stadium in order to play their 23rd match of this season and Sunderland clinched onto the victory with a 3-2 result that leaves Wigan still fighting in the bottom spots of the Premier League standings.
David Vaughan netted the 1rst goal of the match but unfortunately for him, he scored an own goal. It arrived when James McCarthy slipped the ball to Vaughan and the midfielder mistakenly got it past Simon Mignolet.
Fortunately for Vaughan his team managed to get back into the game some minutes later when Gardner tied the game up 1-1 with a penalty kick that was given to his side and he made no mistake in blasting it home.
Sunderland got ahead in the score-board for the 1rst time when Steven Fletcher scored at the 20th minute and turned the score-board to 2-1 but just as the 1rst period of the match was about to end, the Scottish forward extended his team’s lead by 2 goals.
Even with the 2nd half goal of Angelo Henriquez from Wigan it wasn’t enough for them to get past Sunderland as they came out as the winners after 90 minutes had ticked down.
