Wigan Vs Arsenal Highlights: Arsenal jumped into 3rd place after playing their last Premier League match of this year which was scheduled to go against the relegation zone club Wigan Athletic and Arsene Wenger’s side won 1-0.
Despite Wigan Athletic being in the bottom spots of the English Premier League, they were the better of both sides for the majority of the game. They enjoyed better chances and more time on the ball but also lacked a finishing touch that would make them get ahead on the score.
Di Santo provided Kone with a great chance on scoring in the 1rst half when Kone only had the goalkeeper to beat but his shot went wide away from the target. The home club kept on pressuring Arsenal upfront and the chances continued arriving but not managing to finish it off.
The 2nd half arrived and so did the only goal of the entire campaign when Beausejour committed a foul in his own box and Mikel Arteta made no mistake in firing it into the opposite side of where Al-Habsi had jumped to.
The Spanish midfielder secured the triumph for Arsenal in a game that they were 2nd best.
