Maloney missed a great chance to score in the 1rst period of the match and Antolin Alcaraz had to be substituted in the early minutes of the encounter which just made matters more difficult for the visiting team.

West Ham’s goalkeeper Jaaskelainen was enjoying a great game as he maintained a clean sheet throughout the entire match.
It was pretty much all over for Wigan when Kevin Nolan scored his 100th Premier League goal after 80 minutes had passed. Andy Carroll flicked the ball over to Nolan who finished it off with a superb final touch on the ball securing the victory for West Ham.
