Upon hearing the news about Porto's failure in grabbing three points, Benfica got their spirit up and running as they're keen to extend their lead at the top of standings. The visitor took about 38 minutes before eventually taking the lead through Oscar Cardozo's penalty kick.
After the break things didn't go well for the home side as they were forced to play with only 10 men and Benfica took full advantage over that situation as just after the hour mark they doubled their lead with a lob shot from Ezequiel Garay. On 82 minutes, Eduardo Salvio pretty much secured all three points for the visitor with a nice finish after breaking through the offside trap. The visitor added another one deep in stoppage time to complete their rout with an effort from Rodrigo.
