Valencia's attempt in improving their current La Liga standings suffered another stumbling blocks as this weekend they were held into a thrilling draw against Espanyol. El Che looked determined in picking up maximum points from their weekend home fixture, but they didn't have the best of start as it was the away side that got in front after just three minutes of play through Jhon Cordoba's effort. That lead only lasted for a short while though as Paco Alcacer leveled the score on seven minutes of play.
That goal action stuffs didn't end yet in that period as Valencia managed to turn things around with an effort from Jonas on 32 minutes, but this time it was Espanyol's turn to draw level as just before half time break Sergio Garcia bagged an equalizing goal from the spot kick. No more goals were scored by either sides after the break as that mid-table tie ended in a rather disappointing 2-2 draw, which didn't really benefited any of those two teams.
